The great confrontation between the Old Testament prophet Elijah and the false prophets of Baal recorded in I Kings 18. The brass is split into two antiphonal choirs on either side of the audience, with yet more musicians stationed behind the audience.

The Dancing King

The title of this work refers to King David of ancient Israel who, upon the return of the Ark of the Covenant to Jerusalem "danced before the Lord with all his might" (II Samuel 6:14).
